Watch The Throne wasn’t the first time Jay-Z hooked up for an album-length collaboration (or two) with an eccentric musical genius whose life resembles an elaborate act of avant-garde performance art. In 2002, Jay-Z hooked up with R. Kelly for the ironically titled The Best Of Both Worlds, a project that seemingly should have scared him off risky album-length collaborations forever.
